I got a 3.73 rear from an '86 suburban for my '47 1ton (8-bolt lugs). I tried a 3.55 first and had to start in first gear every time. that meant no rolling stops and downshift to first, couldn't do it without the syncro. That also had a bent axle, so it had to go. I suspect I would have better gas milage, and go faster with the 3.55. I can go 80 now when I want a white knuckle ride. Still want to mod the front. I looked some for a hydrovac booster, but got outbid on the one I found. Does anyone know if the hydrovac is for single cylinder masters, or if it will work with a dual master brake cylinder?
