Odd..I just bought those 53 3/4 axles wiht Bendix brakes off a guy outside of Spokane who had them on Craigslist for 6 months and no takers. I just searched on "1953 3/4 ton chevy" and up they popped. Cost me a few bucks to get them here to Nova Scotia but they are the ticket.
I think that the 53 Bendix backing plate will bolt right on your front 52 spindles with minor mods (redrilling lower holes? - saw this on another thread). Looks like the rear is a complete rear end swap- I'd say from a quick look at both axles that the backing plates can't be swapped out.
