This truck appears to be factory built and not made up from assorted parts. The gentleman owned the truck for a long time and the family was told it was ordered by the Navy this way and that there were less than 100 built.
That must be one of those rare 1953 truck small block V8s too tucked in in the engine bay less then one made I hear (not sure if it was made for the Navy).
