Trying to get the measurements & space between the top of the boards & the cab bottom to look even. (51 chevy short box) This is the area where the cab to running board rubber will be installed later. Checked out the search feature and both my manuals and there is no reference to explain the distance. The brackets have off and on a lot & the space varies from back to front of cab. The brackets & cab are donor and not original to the truck I started with. Im thinking I will have to perhaps do some shimming. Anybody know these measurements? Food for thought: The runningboard is directly mounted to the leading edge of the rear fender with no adjustment in any direction. The splash apron is mounted against the top of the board with a bracket and some pivot movement. The top of the apron should be parallel with the box bottom with at least ¼” gap and the thickness of the blocks/shims and play around the box mounting bolts is going to tell you where the boards are going to be. The measurement you’re after becomes “whatever you end up with” and IMO is the purpose of the rubber skirt under the cab. Curt B
