Canada	Hy 1947farmer, there are many different pinion mounting methods on the larger rear ends, none of them involve the use of crush sleeves, in the old rear ends I am aware of, also I have never seen anything but a one piece pinion shaft/gear that your "U" joint flange bolts to, hope that helps.
