I checked the starter out it looks everything looks good except one thing. The linkage from the foot starter is hitting the firewall and not letting the the starter gear disengage from the flywheel. The spring is good and strong, it looks new. If I take the linkage off it lacks about a quarter inch of movement to disengage. Not sure what to do, maybe cut a little out of the linkage and weld it back. What do you think? Every seen this before?
