Vacuum advance do two things: one is to allow the engine to start under ideal conditions, second when started it moves the firing to ideal running conditions, both of these are very Important! Its preset condition is at starting, so if you don't feel you have adiquete power or Can't get it to idle good or even stay running in cold conditions, check your vacuum advance it is a very important part of your Ignition!
