I have seen where a guy modified the medium duty fenders by welding in the light duty openings to get the "look" he wanted.
I can relate to your fall...I had an extension ladder slide out at the bottom dropping me 16'. The best way to discribe it...I did a belly flop on a concrete floor while on the ladder.
