I painted the raised GMC lettering on my axle housing. It took a lot of time to get the desired result, but I used the super small rolls of detail tape at about 1/16" - 1/8" thickness to bend around all the tough spots. Then hit those areas with some newspaper and masking tape and give a good quick spray.

pic of it.The photo doesnt do it justice (bad clarity and glare) and this pic was before I touched up the rest of the housing. It definately takes time and patience.
