I have a 2 1/2 inch dropped axle on my 1940 1/2 ton truck. The axle is from a 1955 1st series truck, or at least it was before I sent it to Mor-Drop in California. I have no idea if they dropped my axle or sent me one they had in stock. No matter it would be the same as yours.

I went out to the garage and took a couple measurements. The top of the spring perch is 7 1/2 inches off the ground. The top of the axle, not incuding the wheel hub is 14 1/2 inches off the ground. That would mean I have a total drop of 7 inches. I never measured the standard axle and often wondered how much stretch Mor-Drop really put on the axle. What is this measurement on your axle?
Oh and your springs could easily give you this much sag if they are flattened out.
