I'm a hobart man.... I've been to several weld shops, and for small welders like us hobbyist's use, Hobart is the top recommended choice because it's a Miller without the "Big Blue" price tag. As for Lincoln, their little machines can do aluminum, but their arc and weld quality isn't quite with Hobart/Miller
Now, if you're going into the big leagues like the Hobart Fabricator sized machines, etc, then it's a wash...
