I agree with Lonnie. Trailers have been around for a long time. I remember when I was young and my family hauled a 30 foot camp trailer from Oregon to Mexico in a 1965 chevy 1/2 ton. I cannot remember the engine size just this moment, but it was all stock. (A 1960's camp trailer is much heaver then todays.) Of course we had a trailer brake system. But I wouldn't even think about it without a complete brake job along with wheel cylinders and master cylinder.
Edit - Let me just say....Pulling a 30 foot trailer with a '65 1/2 ton may have been pushing the capacity, I'm not sure. I would do my homework and be safe.
