I'll bet a good trailer mfg., could give you some info on your truck's requirements for towing. I think the first rule would be never haul anything bigger than what your towing it with. A tow package generally includes receiver hitch, heavier springs, bigger brakes, larger engines. Also get some tips on weight distribution, and drive looking ahead as far as you can.
