One of the parameters of clutch adjustment is the freeplay of the clutch pedal. This is the amount the pedal moves downward before meeting resistance. This guarantees the fork will be off the throwout bearing and the clutch will be fully engaged. I don't have a manual to refer to, but I think it was something like 3/4" of an inch of freeplay. As was stated earlier, this freeplay is achieved by adjusting the two bolts on the clutch arm under the truck.
