Tell them your story and offer him $50 or $75 to go with you to inspect the frame on Saturday and to ask the seller under what parameters the front end and 4 link were welded in.
I don't think there is a deterministic way for you to inspect the frame on your own unless you have had some experience on what should be a good weld for those critical components.
P.S. The money and effort to get an informed opinion is more than worth the potential loss of life or property damage if these type of components fail due to poor weldments.
