i have a 3 speed i was thinking about putting behind a 292. the casting # is GM 3707195. this one isn't like the sm420's i am used to. it doesn't have the clamps that bolt to the propeller shaft on back of housing. it has 2 loops with grooved with internal snap rings to hold u joint in place. can this work with a 3/4 ton drive shaft and how? i am going to have the drive shaft spliced together at a driveline shop but what piece to i need to attach to it(the sm420 muncie style won't work) and if anyone knows the u joint # that would be great. thanks, hr
