Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 841 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 841 | i have a 3 speed i was thinking about putting behind a 292. the casting # is GM 3707195. this one isn't like the sm420's i am used to. it doesn't have the clamps that bolt to the propeller shaft on back of housing. it has 2 loops with grooved with internal snap rings to hold u joint in place. can this work with a 3/4 ton drive shaft and how? i am going to have the drive shaft spliced together at a driveline shop but what piece to i need to attach to it(the sm420 muncie style won't work) and if anyone knows the u joint # that would be great. thanks, hr | | | | | Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 841 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 841 | well i finally figured out a little about this. this is just the front piece of the driveshaft that was slide all the way up the tailshaft spline into the tranny and rusted in place. someone could have just told me i was a bonehead!!!! | | |
