I just bought a 46 Chevy truck with a 216 in it. The guy who had previously owned it said he was driving it and while driving it he heard a loud snap and then the engine started running ruff and would not idle. After the loud snap he said it made a thumping noise frown . He told me that when he would put the air breather on the carb it would muffle the sound. He has not ran the truck for over 5 years since that happend. I recently purchased the truck and I would like to fix the origanl motor were should I start.
