The only experience with the old O.D. stuff was on my father-in-laws 55 Ford Customline. His service manual had a really well done schematic and description of how and why it's done the way it's done. The way it sounds from other posts, the Ford set-up is very simular if not the same. If you can't find decent Chevy info, look into this era Fords for the info you need. There's a governor (speed sensor), a solenoid and a fuse block that makes up the electrical and the push/pull handle that's just mounted under the dash. Did you get all of these pieces with your trans? Good luck, if need be maybe I can borrow the Ford manual from Pa in-law sometime for you,
