If you do not use the search feature I would even suggest just going through the driveline post for the past few days or so. It won't take long and there is tons on this subject. I've posted many myself along with what others are doing.
Just to get you started you can use the original by moving it over, some use a 4/4 toyota box with power steering, some use a GM....these will mount on the side of the chassis towards the front and usually require an ajustable drag link, and maybe even a different pitman arm. As I have read it is not that hard to do. Some use a column out of a 80's GM van for the tilt wheel and the switch is still located in the dash and not the column.
So far, I'm "planning" on using the original box, moved out about 1 1/2" and using a 68 column since I want to have turn signals on the column and it and the switch will still be in the dash.
Lots of choices and I want make the final decision until I get there...which I am just about there now!
