I need a little advice. My '59 cab is finally repaired but I cannot get the drivers door to line up. I have done everything in the world to this cab, floor, corners, roof, brow, front fender mounts, steps, big window conversion, radio hole repair... Yeah, just about everything, except mess with the door frames. So I get the welding all done and hang the doors on rebuilt hinges. The drivers is so tight at the top it will barely close, forget about an even seam. The passenger door has a 3/4 inch gap inside at the top, but it closes fine. It was a pile of parts when I bought it, so I don't know if they ever fit right.
Should I drag home the porta power and bend the cab, or do the doors vary enough that another one might fit better? I worked the door bottoms inside & out but that is the only part that fits.
I suspect that the truck had been wrecked by a PO. The roof I replaced to eliminate a horribly patched sunroof was not the original. Maybe I should just jack up the speedometer and drive a better cab under it. I would hate to waste all the effort I have already put into it. Ideas?
