I'm sure this has been hashed over so I'll do a check and search... But I'm gathering what I need to finish w/ the engine/drivetrain install. I'd like to put a quiet set of mufflers in this 3100 w/ a fairly stock 292. I have Langdon's split 3+3 headers and if my old memory serves me now I think he says NOT to install flowmasters. I think I've also heard they don't sound or work v-well w/ L6's, better for V8's, any. So what is a good muffler to use that's quiet. I believe I should run a crossover but I'm letting the mufflerman do that end of it. I also have a 500 edelbrock & clifford. I believe I should use 1.75'' pipe?? Another question is should the mufflers go closer to the engine or towards the axle?? Does that make a difference?? why?? Is there a way to have the two mufflers come out of one pipe right at the end. I really love the sleeper look. I don't really know what ''a classic sound'' or ''rap-rap'' is that's used in advertising mufflers. Any insites guys?? thanks for the help.
