Hello All,
We have a 56 Chevy 3200 longbed 1/2 ton truck, and are installing a 350 and 465 transmission from a 70 Chevy C/20. The 465 has a u-joint yoke attached to the output shaft, but we would like to use a one piece drive shaft which would require a slip yoke into the transmission. My question is (before I go trying to yank things apart), can we just remove the u-joint yoke and find a proper slip yoke to fit or would it require serious modifications to the transmission like changing the output shaft etc? Is there an easy solution or will we be stuck getting a different transmission or fabricating a two piece drive shaft?
