I've been driving my '65 for a few weeks now and it seems pretty good. I do get a little vibration at higher speeds and rpms. Not sure if it's because there's no mount other than bellhousing or if because I'm using a Camaro T5 and the shifter's all the way aft on tail housing.
I do know there were/are 2 factory mounts for the tail housing on Camaro's to steady it. One was a crossmember and the other came straight from the back and attached to a weird bracket/mount. I'm sure the S10's have some sort of mount as well and that got me thinkin' I should come up with one.
The one I've been fabricating runs fore/aft and will mount to the parking brake crossmember and the bellhousing crossmember. I'm hoping this will steady out some of the vibration. I'm a couple days away from completion as I had to change my design slightly. Even if it does nothing for the very minimal vibration, I'll still be happy to have a mounting point. It just seems weird to have that much tranny sticking out and only mounted to bellhousing. Peace of mind I guess.
