I would look at how the steering box is mounted. It might be possible to move the mounting of the box one way or the other slightly.
I have a 37 and just last weekend I moved the steering box 1/4" toward the engine which helped the centering of the column in the toe floor board and also moved the pitman arm slightly in closer to the frame, achieving two things that I wanted to do.
A couple of washers used as spacers might work, depending on which way you are trying to go.
