Never turn down the first offer if it's in the ball park of what you "MIGHT" sell it for someday... I recently lost $5000 because i wanted another $1000.
Yes, I made that mistake with a BMW sedan last year. Held out for an extra hundred, lost the sale, then the price of diesel went stupid and I ended up selling it for half what I wanted!
Old friend of mine, motorcycle dealer, had an old Shovel Electra-Glide, ex Boston Police and still with the markings. He became tired of people asking him the price, didn't want to sell it so put it in the shop with a £10,000 sterling (about $18000 then ) price tag on it. Three weeks later a guy walked in and put the cash on the table!
