I may not be explaining this clearly and then again I may not be remembering correctly either. As I mentioned at the time my mind was elsewhere, my only concern with the car was to get to a DATE.

Better explanation… I had this ’52 Chevy that was very difficult to start. I think my Dad installed a 12V battery, a 12V generator and a 12V regulator. He powered only the starter with 12 Volts. He taped into the center of the battery to obtain 6 Volts for all of the other power requirements
