Change the oil. Leave the filter alone so it's full of oil. Add the recommended amount of oil minus one quart. Run the engine for 30 seconds & mark the level on the dipstick. That's your one quart low mark. Add one quart & mark the full level. The edge of a file will work well for making the marks.
