Really, about the only glaring fault with the 216 is the babbit bearings. It is true there were probably millions of them built, and under the right conditions they would work for a long time. It is just that the precision bearings with the full pressure oiling is so much more trouble free, especially if running a little more rpm, such as you would be doing with today's speed limits.
