theres nothing wrong with the 216 its just not as good as the later motors i added hei ignition 12v and a holly webber carb to my 235 for my 46 i want to be able to jump in fire up and go with out working on the truck first. i would check with your local machine shop on the parts i bought pistons rings new cam cam gear gaskets
and oil pump for 800.00 all name brand stuff. philip
