Update guys,
I stripped the carb down last night, cleaned everything, hot water rinse, blew everything through with the compressor and started the rebuild this afternoon. I'm just about to set the float level but have a question. Carb is the original Carter W-1. I have a workshop manual which says the float level should be 1/2 inch and I have a drivers manual for a 1.5 ton Australian army Chev which says that the float level on the W-1 should be 3/8 inch. This 41 was originally an Australian army truck. I know that the Carter W-1 was used for a long time. Did different models have different float levels and if so how do I tell which model I've got.
