Gussett: An Okie word. I believe it is also called a reducer... 2" to 1.5". And I made a typo in the earlier post. The pipe is a 3 inch long 1.5 inch nipple.
The "gussett" doesn't have threads inside the end that the nipple goes into but it does on the other end. The diameter from point to point on the perimeter of the gussett is perfect. No grinding or filing required. I also used a 6" 2x4 scrap to pound on and my trusty 5 lb sawed off sledge.
