No, it aint a personal question wink

Actually, I'm refering to the dipstick tube. I'm having a 1955 235 rebuilt to go into my 1940 GMC. I ordered a new tube from Jim Carter. They sent me a genuine GM tube, but its about 2-1/4" longer than the old one. So I'm wondering if it is suppose to be cut to length or if my original was shortened at some time.

Measured from where it comes out of the block to the top, my original is 6" long. The new one is 8-1/4" long.

How long is yours?
