These are designed to fit to the body and then the glass is worked into the rubber using plastic spatula or similar.
The type of rubber that is strung in is an 'S' section and behaves in an entirely different way.
As Tim said the tricky part is fitting the lock strip.There is a tool that makes this sooooo much easier!
