Hi 65! You shouldn't need to resort to adhesive, obviously with the rubber being new,it will be tight.
I take it you mean the rubber is trying to 'roll' off the glass at the top and bottom centres.
Some 2" masking tape should do the trick,make sure the glass is clean so the tape will stick and don't let it overlap into the area that sits against the paint,it's a pain to pick out if it gets trapped.
If your still unsure,any good glass shop should be able to fit that screen in about 20 mins or less,so it shouldn't be too expensive.
