Although you may up your gas mileage a little by changing carb setups, the real results will come when you change your final drive, rearend to a higher gear. Most of the old trucks even the 1/2 tonners used at least a 4;11 rearend and some even around the 4:56 mark.My 55 is still running a stock 3:90 rear, which will cause it to lose a lot on gas mileage. However I am also using an overdrive 700R4 tranny which works out just fine.Way too many people on this site thinking that carberation is the answer to fuel economy.First things first, check to see what rearend gears you are running.Get that gearing up to about 3:42 or even 3:08,and you will see a big difference.
