Ok,you answered my question.To me,less is better,manual steering builds muscles!!!
AD trucks don't suffer from bump steer or steering wheel kickback unless the suspension parts are worn.
I heard that placing the tie rod in front may help reduce tie rod flex when adding brakes with increased stopping,like discs.
