You do not need much. A few table spoons in a quart container with water will do the wood in a box no problem. Extra coats will make it darker. I tried to buy some and it was available in 1kg bags (2.2 lbs). If you could find 100grams it would be more than enough.
Use PPE and read the MSDS nasty on the skin.
