I have a few toys (see my sig), but I want my truck to be a truck. I love the 427 BB in my Camino, but in my truck I want grunt. I could honestly care less about HP. I have a stock 235 in mine for now, and it runs great. I could see tweaking it a bit, shaving the head and adding a nice aftermarket RV style cam, maybe a header. In the end, I still want it to pull stumps at an idle. I towed a 71 Bug with it today that hadn't moved in 10 years, around my Pastor's yard so it could be picke up by a wrecker.

Don't take me for an all-stock guy by any means, but these trucks worked well with the 6 cyl in them. I can see great improvements with a bit of work.
