I got a block and head '55 to 57 casting numbers matched OK but an incomplete motor. I bought a used rocker arm assembly from some old guy who said it'd work. The rockers have bushings in them and I think those were used on the earlier 216 engines. When I went to bolt down the assembly all the valves are held open- somethin' wrong big time. The pushrods measure correct, 11.25 inches, for 55 to 57. The towers appear to be the right height. The valves are all new and correct for the head. If I have 216 rocker arms would that be causing this problem? | | |
