Not all Blue Fame Sixes ran at 140 horsepower, but they were higher horsepower than the Thriftmaster truck engine and the standard automobile 235. As stated by LONGBOX55, the Blue Flame Sixes were put in Powerglide-equipped cars, and all but the Corvette Blue Flame sixes had hydraulic lifters.

Here is a Blue Flame 115 and the 1953 Blue Flame 125.

Here is a standard 106 hp Thrift-King 1953 automobile 235.

The 1955 Blue Flame Sixes in automobiles (not Corvettes) produced 123 or 136 hp.

The 1953-55 Corvette Blue Flame Six had mechanical lifters and produced up to 150 hp.
