The rear ends should be the same with a few exceptions that really have nothing to do with what you need to know. Such as, the 1941 to 1947.1 1/2 ton trucks had a torque tube setup that was about 1.5 to 2" shorter then a 1947.2 and newer. Also the earlier trucks had different spring perches.
Internally they should be the same.
