Someting you need to keep in mind, Bendix drum brakes are self energizing, meaning that the brakes use the vehicle continued motion to wedge the shoes tighter to the drums, effectively increasing the braking power. You will not have this with disk brakes. As a brake mechanic, I stongly suggest adding a power booster along with the disk conversion. No power is ok for a relatively light vehicle, like an MG or a compact car like a Chevette, but the extra boost is really needed with someting as heavy as a truck. I drove a Dodge Warlock that had manual disks on it once, it wouldn't hardly stop, even at low speeds.
