Some more rust issues I see frequently are those that cause the windshield to leak, rust just above the rain gutter in the roof, and rusty and loose headliner bows. You probably don't see these as much as far south as you are but they are common in my area.
Some of those Suburban/panel specific patch panels are only available from one craftsman who makes them in limited quantities as it fits in with other things he does. If he stops or retires those pieces could get hard to find!
