Hey guys, thanks a bunch.. Definitely I am into changing out the ring and pinion.. I do about 50 percent freeway driving and i don't go much past 60 miles per hour and my tack is at about 3000 rpms at that speed..
My rear end guy says that I can't go any higher than a 3.72 ring and pinion unless I change out my carrier gizmo (cant remember the exact term he used..) Also he said that I would be very dissatisfied with the vehicle if I raised it up any higher than that.. He seems to think that there is a big difference between the 4.10 ratio and the 3.72 and that I will more than likely be happy with it..
I basically use the truck daily with only very light transporting.. Light ladders and some paint cans.. So I'm not hauling heavy stuff daily nor do I plan on it..
My main objective is to get it up to 15-20 miles per gallon without having to completely re-mod.. If the ring and pinion is the answer do you feel the 3.72 will fill the bill or do I need to take other steps?
