Trev, for all that's it worth for a 72 year old truck it's really not that bad if that's the only problems it has, hopefully it will all come together soon for you. Im sure between you and your buds it will get taken care of and you'll be driving that gem in no time
I agree... for a 72 year old truck she is in pretty good shape although I'd love to know more of the history on the old beast...
It was discovered the other day that the frame has been cut behind the cab and welded onto a lighter pickup truck frame which kinda makes sense... when I ran the numbers originally she came back as a 1.5 ton dually, not a 1/2 ton... now it's beginning to make sense why...
Tomorrow morning I'll bring all the brake parts in to be machined, but at this point am much more concerned with the king pins and bushings... according to Dave, we should remove the whole front axle and bring it in to some machine shop so those two items can be replaced... sounds like pretty major "surgery" but I know nothing about any other way of doing it... does anyone else?
I guess that will be the next issue...
Anyway for 72 she's pretty fit and a nice old truck so hopefully she can see some windshield time on the road this summer and make it to a couple of shows... can't wait!
