Lookin' good!
Unless you are restoring the suburban, the smoothed fenders will look fine. Just don' t smack them. Double check the area where the fenders meet the body underneath. This area is prone to rust and they may have welded them in for a reason. Also check out the interior panels and make sure they did not cover up any boogers.
