It is a bolt on change that is actually an upgrade in itself due to the larger diameter kingpins. It does sound like you have things worked out with your 37.
On my 1940 GMC I will be changing out the front axle to the later one and using the CPP 12 inch 6 lug disc brakes. I am curious to see what you came up with for a master cylinder mount.
