The '58 235 is longer than the '53 235 in the water pump area. The '53-'54 235's have the water pump partially mounted to the head and it is up high. The later blocks have the water pump completely in the block and it mounts lower. Somebody moved the radiator to accomodate this. In the conventional cab trucks, people either shorten the water pump shaft and live with a fan that sits too low on the radiator, or get one of the water pump adaptor plates after market that let you use a 216 or early 235 water pump with a later block. I recommend doing this and putting the radiator back to the original location.
