I had a SCARY thing happen yesterday I was winding up the ol gal a bit to check the kickdown, 4 barrell and such, hit a pretty crappy bridge that crosses the road not far from home and the hood popped open ...luckily the emergency catch caught it and kept it from flying up and causing ...WELL YA KNOW...soo my ?
I have replaced all the hood rubbers with new, how much SPRING should I have when the hood is closed and locked?
Right now I have to slam it pretty good to latch it wich I am now confident ISNT RIGHT, it is like rock solid when closed, with the spring on the hood pin Im pretty sure it should close, latch and have a bit of spring pressure to work with not be solid.
any help will be appreciated.
I do not have a service manual for my 52..Im winging it.
thanks
Tim
